These Real Salt Lake players got their start playing youth club soccer in the USA.
1. Nick Rimando
Nick Rimando is a retired goalkeeper who played for Real Salt Lake for 13 seasons. He won one MLS Cup and two Supporters’ Shields with Real Salt Lake, and was named to the MLS Best XI team five times.
Rimando began his youth soccer career playing for the LA Galaxy South Bay Academy. He then played college soccer for UCLA before being drafted by Miami Fusion in the 2000 MLS SuperDraft.
2. Kyle Beckerman
Kyle Beckerman is a retired midfielder who played for Real Salt Lake for 14 seasons. He won one MLS Cup and two Supporters’ Shields with Real Salt Lake, and was named to the MLS Best XI team six times.
Beckerman began his youth soccer career playing for the Crofton Cougars in Maryland. He then played college soccer for the University of Maryland before being drafted by the Miami Fusion in the 2000 MLS SuperDraft.
3. Ned Grabavoy
Ned Grabavoy is a retired midfielder who played for Real Salt Lake for six seasons. He won one MLS Cup and one Supporters’ Shield with Real Salt Lake.
Grabavoy began his youth soccer career playing for the Chicago Sockers youth club. He then played college soccer for Indiana University before being drafted by the Los Angeles Galaxy in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft.
4. Tony Beltran
Tony Beltran is a retired defender who played for Real Salt Lake for 11 seasons. He won one MLS Cup and two Supporters’ Shields with Real Salt Lake.
Beltran began his youth soccer career playing for the Cosmos Soccer Academy in Utah. He then played college soccer for UCLA before being drafted by Real Salt Lake in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft.
5. Chris Wingert
Chris Wingert is a retired defender who played for Real Salt Lake for eight seasons. He won one MLS Cup and one Supporters’ Shield with Real Salt Lake.
Wingert began his youth soccer career playing for the Albertson Soccer Club in New York. He then played college soccer for St. John’s University before being drafted by the Columbus Crew in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft.
6. Robbie Findley
Robbie Findley is a retired forward who played for Real Salt Lake for five seasons. He won one MLS Cup and one Supporters’ Shield with Real Salt Lake.
Findley began his youth soccer career playing for the Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club. He then played college soccer for the University of Oregon before being drafted by Real Salt Lake in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft.
7. Devon Sandoval
Devon Sandoval is a current forward who has played for Real Salt Lake for seven seasons. He has also played for the USL team Real Monarchs.
Sandoval began his youth soccer career playing for the New Mexico Rush Soccer Club. He then played college soccer for the University of New Mexico before being drafted by Real Salt Lake in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft.
8. Luis Silva
Luis Silva is a retired midfielder who played for Real Salt Lake for two seasons. He won one MLS Cup with Real Salt Lake.
Silva began his youth soccer career playing for the Pateadores Soccer Club in California. He then played college soccer for UC Santa Barbara before being drafted by Toronto FC in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft.
9. Jordan Allen
Jordan Allen is a retired midfielder who played for Real Salt Lake for four seasons. He also played for the USL team Real Monarchs.
Allen began his youth soccer career playing for the Real Salt Lake-Arizona Academy. He then played college soccer for the University of Virginia before being drafted by Real Salt Lake in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft.
10. Carlos Alvarez
Carlos Alvarez is a retired midfielder who played for several clubs in MLS, including Real Salt Lake, Colorado Rapids, and Orlando City. He made 82 appearances in MLS and scored two goals.
Alvarez began his youth soccer career playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy Academy. He then moved on to play college soccer for the University of Connecticut before being drafted by Chivas USA in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. Alvarez was later traded to Real Salt Lake, where he played for one season.
11. Corey Baird
Corey Baird is a current forward who has played for Real Salt Lake since 2018. He has made 75 appearances and scored 14 goals for the club. Baird has also played for the US Men’s National Team, making six appearances and scoring one goal.
Baird began his youth soccer career playing for the La Jolla Nomads in San Diego, California. He then moved on to play college soccer for Stanford University, where he won the MAC Hermann Trophy as the best player in college soccer in 2017. Baird was then drafted by Real Salt Lake in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft and has been with the club ever since.
